Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is for an adjunct instructor position teachingTheatre for Children and Youth in tandem with directing a childrens theatre musical for our department's fall production. Instructor will ideally have a background in working with theatrefor young audiences, teaching college students or young adults, and directing adults in musicaldesignated for children and familyaudiences. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12:15pm. Rehearsals usually take place in the evenings and weekendafternoons at the historic Casino Theatre in Newport, RI. Theatre production will be presented in this historic space at the beginning of November 2026.

Requirements:

Required :

  • Instructor will ideally have a background in working withtheatre for young audiences, teaching college students or youngadults, and directing adults in musicaldesignated for children and familyaudiences.
  • Bachelor of Arts in theatre or education, or theatreeducation

Preferred :

  • Master of Arts in theatre education or directing.
