Job summary

The University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Center for Career and Technical Education invites qualified adjunct faculty to teach lower division courses (100–200 level) in Fire Science topics for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Faculty will deliver face-to-face instruction, develop assignments, and assess student learning.

Positions are contingent on enrollment and course offerings, with evenings or weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ work in Fire Science or related field.
• Preferred fire service certifications and credentials.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in Fire Science or Emergency Services.
• IFSAC or Pro Board Fire Instructor II certification preferred.
• Commitment to cultural understanding of New Mexico and UNM’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower division courses (100–200 level) in Fire Science as assigned.
• Deliver content, develop assignments, and assess student learning.
• Meet face-to-face with classes during evenings or weekends when needed.
• Report grades and maintain course records to the division chair.
