Job summary

American Career College in California seeks a Surgical Technologist faculty member to guide students and shape future healthcare professionals. You will mentor students, model teaching excellence, and apply your clinical experience to your teaching schedule.

You will participate in course and curriculum assessment, improve materials and syllabi, use diverse teaching methods, and remain active in scholarly activities and professional growth per university policies.

Qualifications

• Three years of occupational experience in the subject field.
• In the last five years, at least three years of operating room experience or teaching in the field, or a combination of the two before hire date.
• Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.
• At least an associate degree with the appropriate coursework in the subject required.
• Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA in the specialty field.

• Serve as a mentor, role model and facilitator for students.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and for the teaching/learning process.
• Apply your skills and experience to your assigned teaching schedule.
• Participate in assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan.
• Improve class materials and syllabi within shared governance culture.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students and meet learning outcomes.
• Maintain scholarly activities.
• Participate in professional growth and service per university policies.
• In clinical settings, assume responsibility for students and clarify expectations with staff and facilities.
• Direct students to resources needed for clinical preparation and assess knowledge to ensure patient safety.
