Utah Connections Academy (UCA) is a tuition-free, online public school serving students in grades K–12 throughout Utah. UCA is authorized under state law by the Utah State Charter School Board and governed by an independent Board of Directors. The school is operated by Utah Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Utah, LLC, to provide its educational program and services. Position Summary and Responsibilities

We are accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Working from your home office, the Adjunct Teacher will manage subject-specific instructional programs. Compensation will depend on the course workload and enrolled students. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, evaluating work, running online instructional sessions, providing academic guidance, and serving as the subject-matter expert for a caseload of K-12 students. The Teacher must complete work during regular school hours and outside normal hours as needed. Using telephone, Internet, and curriculum tools, they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful program completion.

The Adjunct Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Communicating with parents/learning coaches, students, and teachers via phone, WebMail, discussions, and conferencing;
  • Instructing students, monitoring work, providing feedback, and suggesting instructional strategies;
  • Monitoring assignment completion;
  • Scoring assessments and projects;
  • Communicating with advisory teachers and counselors, reporting issues, and coordinating schedules;
  • Conducting online tutorial sessions using conferencing software;
  • Developing detailed knowledge of the curriculum for which responsible;
  • Providing additional support and strategies for struggling students and parents;
  • Completing all required training sessions;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Highly qualified and certified to teach PE in Utah (appropriate to grade level and responsibilities);
  • Utah residency preferred; priority to local candidates.
  • Candidates from surrounding states (Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming) are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Customer-focused approach;
  • Flexible and adaptable;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Team player;
  • Experience with online instruction is a plus;
