Job summary

Hinds Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Respiratory Care Technology Instructor to support the Respiratory Care Technology program on campus in Pearl, Mississippi. The position supports clinical training, classroom instruction, and skill assessments for students pursuing respiratory care credentials.

Qualified candidates will hold an AS or higher in Respiratory Care Technology, be a currently credentialed RRT, and bring at least two years of clinical experience.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • An Associate of Applied Science, or higher, in Respiratory Care Technology
  • Current documentation as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • A minimum of two (2) years' of clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Minimum qualifications as defined by accrediting body
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attendance
  • 1. Work assigned hours (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester [Less than full-time contractual instructors work a proportional workweek.]
  • 2. Meet all assigned classes, lab, simulation, and clinical assignments.
  • 3. Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for all duty days.
  • 4. Notify immediate supervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence.
  • 5. Attend general faculty, center, division, and program meetings as schedule allows.
Attention
  • 1. Check College e-mail during the work week and respond in a timely manner.
  • 2. Provide feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • 3. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • 4. Submit documentation required by College or Program by published deadlines.
  • 5. Follow program chain of command to communicate issue or concerns, utilizing College Policy, Procedure, and Personnel Manual (refer to My.Hinds: College Manuals).
Appearance
  • 1. Present a personal appearance in keeping with established Hinds Community College Dress Code (refer to My.Hinds: College Manuals).
  • 2. Follow program dress code requirements.
  • 3. Follow clinical agency dress code requirements as identified by clinical agency guidelines.
