Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a qualified instructor to teach Respiratory Care Technology in classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical settings at Hinds Community College. The role requires current credentials and at least two years of clinical experience.

You will implement active learning strategies, leverage simulation technology, provide timely student feedback, and ensure confidentiality while complying with Nursing and Allied Health standards and college policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Care Technology.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as an RRT.
• Ability to meet essential duties and work assigned hours.

• Teach Respiratory Care Technology courses in classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical settings
• Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning
• Utilize technology in teaching
• Maintain current professional credentials, certifications, and documentation
• Cooperate with college, center, division, and program policies and procedures
• Provide timely feedback to students
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Complete required professional development activities
• Meet assigned classes, lab, simulation, clinical, and campus assignments
• Attend faculty, center, division, and program meetings
• Participate in program assessment, evaluation, annual planning, and accreditation activities
• Collaborate with others to improve educational experiences
• Participate in student/faculty and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance reviews
• Follow applicable dress codes, clinical guidelines, and chain-of-command procedures

Requirements

• Associate of Applied Science or higher in Respiratory Care Technology
• Current documentation as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Minimum qualifications as defined by the accrediting body
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Maintain current professional credentials and certifications required in the field
• Ability to work assigned campus and clinical hours during contracted semesters
• Ability to meet assigned classes, laboratory, simulation, and clinical assignments
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to follow Hinds Community College, Nursing and Allied Health, program, and clinical agency policies and dress codes
