The Health Professions Division at Reading Area Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to support hands‑on learning in the Respiratory Care Program. This position provides instruction, coaching, skill competency evaluation, and student remediation within the on‑campus Respiratory Care clinical skills laboratory.

The adjunct will work closely with program faculty to reinforce psychomotor competencies aligned with CoARC standards, support student skill development, and ensure safe, effective practice in preparation for clinical placement.

Qualifications
Minimum Required:
  1. Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  2. Hold a current state license in Respiratory Care
  3. Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  4. Have at least two (2) years of clinical respiratory care experience
  5. Have at least two (2) years of teaching experience, either:
    1. As appointed faculty in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program
    2. As a clinical instructor or preceptor for students in such programs
  6. A bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or a related health field.
  7. Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and clinical teaching skills
Preferred:
  1. Experience teaching in higher education
  2. Experience in simulation, skills lab instruction, or competency assessment
  3. Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technology
  4. Commitment to the community college mission and student success
Special Conditions
  1. Instruction will occur on campus in the Respiratory Care clinical skills lab
  2. Pennsylvania residency required at time of hire
  3. Position requires collaboration with program faculty and adherence to CoARC and institutional standards
