Job summary

The University of New Hampshire Prevention Innovations Research Center (PIRC) is seeking a Research Assistant to support externally and internally funded projects. The RA will help recruit participants, run focus groups and interviews, develop surveys, analyze data, and author scholarly and practitioner articles.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, collecting data, and ensuring quality in both quantitative and qualitative analyses.

Qualifications

  • Some research experience in social science or public health methods.
  • Majoring in psychology, sociology, public health, or a health-related field.
  • Dedicated to PIRC's mission of ending interpersonal violence.
  • Knowledge of Qualtrics, SPSS, STATA, Atlas.ti.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Canva.

The RA position involves assisting the research team with recruiting research participants, facilitating focus groups and key stakeholder interviews, developing and implementing research surveys, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and writing scholarly and practitioner articles.Duties/ResponsibilitiesPreparing resources and materials for research activities.Collecting data (e.g., surveys, interviews and focus groups).Analyzing quantitative and qualitative results.RequirementsMinimum Acceptable Education & Experience:Some research experience, either through a social science or public health research methods course or practical experience in a research laboratory.Students majoring in psychology, sociology, public health, or a health-related field.Must be dedicated to PIRC's mission of ending interpersonal violence.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Research experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods, including the use of survey software (e.g., Qualtrics) and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, Atlas.ti).Ability to work independently and accurately, and to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during research.Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding research on sensitive topics and the submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.Requires strong organization and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.Professional oral/written communication skills are required.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive) and CANVA.Foundational knowledge of violence preventionApplicant Instructions:Applicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the My Experience: Resume/CV section of the application: (Maximum of 5 Documents)Resume/CVCompensation Pay Range:$15-18 per hourPlease be advised that this position is supported by external sponsor funding.
