Job summary

Worcester State University seeks an adjunct faculty member for Fall 2025 to teach courses in Financial Management for nonprofit and public management students, and in Public Budgeting and Financial Management for the program’s students. The position is adjunct and part-time for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Applicants should hold at least a Master’s degree in accounting/finance with strong teaching skills; MPA with a background in accounting/finance is eligible.

Job Description:

The Department of Urban Studies at Worcester State University seeksto fill an adjunct position starting Fall 2025, in public budgetingand financial management. The department houses three master'sdegree programs including: A Master of Science in NonprofitManagement, a Master of Public Administration and Policy, and aMaster of Public Management. The instructor would be expected toteach courses in Financial Management to nonprofit and publicmanagement students, and Public Budgeting and Financial Managementto students in the public administration and policy program.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least a master's degree (earned Ph.D. or ABD preferred) inaccounting, finance or related fields. Candidates with an MPA witha background in accounting and finance are also eligible toapply.
• Strong communication skills and capability of teaching graduatestudents. College teaching experience preferred.
• Candidates with industry experience particularly in municipaland state government are preferred.
