Job description

To build an active pool of qualified part-time instructors, the School of Business at Midlands Technical College is accepting applications from individuals interested in teaching daytime, on-ground, and dual enrollment courses in the following areas: Accounting, Business Office Technology Systems, Entrepreneurship, General Business, Graphic Design, Management, and Marketing. Adjunct instructors support student learning by preparing course materials, communicating and interacting effectively with students, maintaining accurate attendance and grade records, following course schedules, using the learning management system for instruction and communication, assessing student learning outcomes, and submitting grades and required reports on time. Instructors are also expected to remain current in their teaching disciplines.

Teaching opportunities are available at the Airport, Beltline, and Lexington North Lake campuses, as well as at high school locations throughout the surrounding area. Priority assignments include daytime, on-ground classes and courses serving dual enrollment students. Applicants should indicate the subject areas they are qualified to teach and their availability. We especially encourage applicants qualified to teach multiple business disciplines and available to teach multiple sections to apply.

This position will be located on various Midlands Technical College Campuses.

Master of Business Administration or a master's degree in a business-related field, with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in the teaching discipline. High school teaching certifications do not substitute for discipline-specific graduate course credit. Two years of relevant work experience. Previous experience teaching or providing training.

Professional industry credentials relevant to the teaching discipline. Demonstrated teaching excellence, preferably in a community college setting. Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in college-level courses.

The standard adjunct pay rate is $3,015 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary based on enrollment and total course credit hours. Any variation is outlined in the faculty employment agreement.

Special Note for Applicants Residing Outside of South Carolina:

If you are selected for a remote adjunct position with Midlands Technical College and do not reside in the State of South Carolina, your employment will be through KellyOCG, our employer of record partner supporting all remote out-of-state workforce requirements.
