Job Summary

Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in any discipline and hold current certification/licensure as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in pharmacy and hold a current license to practice as a pharmacist in Texas.
• Teaching experience is desired.
• This position is Security Sensitive; candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director.
• Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs; Collin College is not hiring for online instruction at this time.
• May include Dual Credit courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.
• All duties are to be performed in-person at a campus or other location of Collin College as required by Texas Education Code §51.992.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Sedentary work, occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force, with walking and standing required only occasionally. Responsibilities include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Office environment with little physical effort required.

Background Check

Security Sensitive position requires a criminal background check. If selected for a dual credit course(s), an additional background check requiring fingerprinting with the TX DPS will be required from the assigned ISD.

Employment Type and Compensation

Part-time. Compensation: Per Adjunct Faculty and CE Instructor Rates.
