Job Summary

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is currently seeking adjunct professors to teach graduate‑level courses within the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program. The selected candidate will teach courses covering occupational therapy concepts, advocacy, healthcare management, pediatric rehabilitation and/or adult rehabilitation. The candidate will be responsible for assessing student performance and providing feedback on course assignments. Classes will be held during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters, meet in‑person on weekdays, and span 12‑ or 15‑week semesters. The overall commitment entails three hours of teaching per week, along with availability for office hours.

Required Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related major awarded by an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education‑recognized regional accrediting body.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in the field of OT. Experience in physical rehabilitation, hand therapy, neurorehabilitation, geriatrics, and/or home care is preferred.
  • Initially certified by NBCOT and eligible for OT licensure in New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to adapt teaching to various learning styles and levels of learners.
  • Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
