Job summary

University of North Carolina Pembroke invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program for 2026-2027. This 0.5-FTE, part-time role offers a 20‑hour week schedule and the chance to mentor and shape future therapists.

The position requires a Master’s in OT or a related Doctoral degree, 3+ years clinical OT experience, NBCOT, AOTA membership, and NC OT license/eligibility, with opportunities for professional development and curriculum

  • Minimum of 3 years of documented clinical OT experience.
  • Current NBCOT certification.
  • Current AOTA membership.
  • Current North Carolina OT license or eligibility.

Adjunct Faculty/Master Occupational Therapy 2026-2027

We invite you to join our dynamic team as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the new Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. This part‑time, 0.5‑FTE position offers a flexible schedule (20 hours/week) and the opportunity to shape future occupational therapists through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and guide graduate students in their academic and professional development.
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom discussions.
  • Share real‑world experience and expertise through innovative teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum design and delivery.
  • Contribute to the advancement of occupational therapy research and scholarship.
  • Develop courses, teach course content, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure courses are consistent with curriculum design and meet program and student learning objectives.
  • Excel in classroom instruction and fulfill various responsibilities related to assigned teaching duties.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy or doctoral degree in the discipline or a related field (Ph.D., Ed.D., OTD, Sci.D.) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of documented clinical experience in occupational therapy in areas such as neurorehabilitation/physical rehabilitation, pediatrics, or community health, wellness, and prevention.
  • Current NBCOT certification.
  • Current AOTA membership.
  • Current North Carolina license to practice occupational therapy (or eligibility).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of ACOTE Standards and expectations.
  • Graduate teaching experience.
  • Scholarship portfolio.
