Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Promote student learning through diverse teaching strategies, facilitating engagement across all environments (on-campus, online, virtual).
2. Teach metacognitive awareness and skills for lifelong learning.
3. Utilize the learning management system (LMS) and other technologies to enhance instruction.
4. Align activities and assessments with course objectives and student learning outcomes.
5. Provide timely feedback to foster continuous improvement.
6. Use student evaluations for self-assessment and instructional enhancement.
7. Adhere to professional standards, civility, and service excellence.
8. Design courses and curricula aligned with learning outcomes.
9. Evaluate and improve course materials and teaching strategies regularly.
10. Follow department guidelines and college policies as outlined in the syllabi.
11. Create and post individualized syllabi using approved templates at semester start.
12. Establish and maintain a semester schedule of activities.
13. Record attendance and grades in the LMS.
14. Comply with all relevant laws regarding students' rights in higher education.
15. Meet all departmental and college deadlines.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or master's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching college-level lectures and laboratory courses in Chemistry.
• Experience with multiple course delivery methods (on-campus, hybrid, online asynchronous and synchronous) is highly desirable.
