Chattanooga College Medical Dental and Technical Careers is seeking an Adjunct PN Didactic Pathway Basic Math Instructor to deliver classroom instruction and support students enrolled in the Pathway Basic Math Course.

This role requires evaluating student performance, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with nursing faculty to ensure curriculum alignment. Evening classes are scheduled Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:50 pm in a dynamic healthcare education setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to teach evenings (Mondays and Thursdays) 6:00 pm - 9:50 pm.

Adjunct PN Didactic Pathway Basic Math Instructor

At Chattanooga College, the Practical Nursing (LPN) Department helps implement our strategy of providing career-oriented degree programs that make a big difference in the healthcare community. The Adjunct Didactic Pathway Basic Math Instructor will provide classroom instruction and educational support to students enrolled in the Pathway Basic Math Course to support student learning, skill development, and successful program completion. This includes responsibilities such as delivering classroom instruction, supporting curriculum objectives, evaluating student performance, and fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Ideal candidates must have strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills and a passion for educating future nurses. Candidates must be adaptable, student-focused, and able to manage the responsibilities of classroom teaching in a dynamic healthcare environment.

This is an instructional (adjunct faculty) position supporting the Practical Nursing (LPN) Department. This role requires significant interaction with students, faculty, and personnel through direct classroom supervision, instruction, and evaluation. They must be able to interpret individual student learning needs, provide constructive feedback, and work effectively with students who may be stressed or challenged in classroom settings.

• Upholds confidentiality and complies with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal regulations.
• Completes required professional development, training, and compliance requirements annually.
• Demonstrates professionalism and serves as a positive role model for nursing students.
• Participates in departmental meetings or activities as required for adjunct faculty.
• Maintains required licensure and certifications, including BLS.
• Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and departmental leadership.
