Samuel Merritt University invites applications for full-time adjunct faculty (Theory, Lab, and Clinical) at the Fresno campus. The role focuses on creating a dynamic, learner-centered environment and aligning instruction with course objectives, with ongoing student mentorship.

Ideal candidates hold a Masters or Doctorate in nursing or related field, possess an unencumbered California RN license (or eligibility), and have experience teaching diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Masters and/or doctorate in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching diverse students at the baccalaureate or higher degree level.
• Unencumbered California registered nurse license or eligible for licensure in California.
• Demonstrated current competence in theory or clinical area at the level of the student being taught.
• Experience working with leadership in healthcare and academic institutions and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Completes required orientation for adjunct faculty and creates a learner-centered environment.
• Apprises students of progress and develops learning plans to meet course goals.
• Notifies program leadership of at-risk students and attends faculty meetings as needed.
• Plans learning experiences, maintains Canvas course, and responds to communications within 48 hours.
• Conducts clinical orientation, mentors students, and provides timely feedback on assignments.
