Job Summary

Adjunct Registered Nurse Instructor provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom with a major emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The role is on‑site and involves in‑person instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned nursing courses with a focus on adult learning theory and evidence‑based practice.
• Design curricula that embrace diversity and inclusive teaching strategies, considering individual student differences.
• Assess student learning using appropriate tools, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback.
• Keep attendance, syllabi, and grading records in accordance with departmental policies.
• Engage in department meetings, professional development, and communication with students and colleagues.
• Advise students, encourage community building, and refer them to academic support services.
• Use technology effectively for instruction, communication, and assessment.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment for all students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• At least two (2) years of clinical RN experience.
• Current Ohio RN licensure in good standing.
• Driver’s license or demonstrable ability to obtain one.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Preferred: Prior teaching experience.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods, stand, and walk in classroom and clinical settings.
• Frequently use a computer with detailed vision requirements.
• Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
• Exposed to close social contacts, communicable diseases, medications, solutions, blood, and other body fluids.

Working Conditions

• Typical environments: classroom, laboratory, healthcare clinical sites (hospitals, clinics, long‑term care facilities, mental health facilities), and community areas such as homeless shelters.
• May involve evening or weekend hours as required by the schedule.
• Exposure to various health risks and physical demands associated with nursing education.

Compensation

$55.88 per contact hour. One contact hour equals two instructional hours. Up to 12 contact hours per week. Part‑time.
