Job summary

The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP) seeks an Adjunct/Temporary ADN Instructor to support nursing students through tutoring and remedial clinics at the Houston Northwest Campus. This on-site role focuses on strengthening nursing knowledge and clinical skills, guiding students toward successful progress in the ADN program.

Responsibilities include tutoring, leading clinics, reinforcing concepts, mentoring students, and maintaining current nursing education standards.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Texas RN license.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
• If the graduate degree is in another field, candidates must have a BSN and at least 6 graduate-level nursing credits.
• Demonstrated teaching ability and current clinical knowledge.
• 3+ years of nursing education teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring support for assigned ADN courses and subjects.
• Lead remedial skills clinics to help students strengthen clinical competencies.
• Reinforce course concepts and assist students with understanding challenging material.
• Identify areas where students may need additional academic or skills support.
• Provide guidance and mentorship related to academic and professional expectations.
• Create a supportive, engaging, and positive learning environment.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and educational standards.
• Support student success and progression within the ADN program.
