Job summary

Motlow State Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Music Faculty (Pool) position across multiple campuses. The pool supports high-quality instruction aligned with catalog descriptions and course syllabi to facilitate student learning and success.

A Master’s degree is required, with 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Doctoral credentials and CC teaching experience are preferred, plus the ability to teach in an additional Motlow field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in discipline or qualifying field by application date.
• 18 graduate semester hours in discipline by application date.
• Doctoral degree and 3 years CC teaching experience (preferred).
• Ability to teach in an additional Motlow State teaching field.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned per catalog description and syllabus; teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned; travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
• Collaborate collegially with faculty, department lead/program director, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.
• Collaborate with faculty, administration and staff to support students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Stay current with developments in teaching discipline and instructional approaches and incorporate updates into instruction.
• Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college.
• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
• Maintain availability to communicate with and meet students regarding coursework.
• Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests; submit paperwork timely and in full.
• Perform duties in accordance with TBR and MSCC policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
