Spartanburg Community College is seeking a dedicated Mechatronics instructor to teach courses to a diverse student body, develop and revise curricula, and participate in program design and college activities. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Mechatronics or related field with three years of work experience, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
The role includes student advising and coordinating registration and retention efforts.
Teach Mechatronic courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.
Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering or other related field and three years of work experience in the field. Combined education, industry-recognized credentials, license, or certifications, and experience may be substituted for a degree.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Professional development and other college activities may require overnight travel and independent study. Day, evening and possible weekend student advisement and instruction will be required. Professional, collegial, and ethical conduct, decisions, and relationships are expected at all times.
