Job summary

Lee College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Learning Frameworks inside Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities. The position requires compliance with security protocols and may involve travel to Huntsville, Navasota, and Dayton TDCJ units. Mileage is reimbursed per travel policies.

The ideal candidate will adapt to facility constraints, maintain accurate records, and support system-impacted students’ academic and career development while upholding high standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s (or higher) degree in Education, Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
• Master’s degree with eighteen graduate hours in Education, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills with emphasis on constructive feedback.
• Ability to create engaging learning experiences with limited technology access.
• Must be able to pass TDCJ background check and maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Learning Frameworks courses within TDCJ facilities.
• Adapt teaching materials and strategies for facility constraints.
• Maintain accurate student records per Lee College requirements.
• Submit required student reports on schedule.
• Direct, evaluate, and assess learning experiences per curricula and procedures.
• Provide guidance to students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment for diverse learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely intervention for at-risk students.
• Travel to multiple TDCJ units; manage travel logistics and mileage reimbursement.
