Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related discipline (or Master's with 18 graduate hours).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to teach with limited technology access.
• Pass TDCJ background check and maintain security clearance.
• Willingness to travel regularly to multiple TDCJ units.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Maintain accurate travel logs and mileage reimbursements.
• Flexibility to adjust travel schedules per TDCJ unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach Learning Frameworks courses within TDCJ facilities per approved syllabi and materials.
• Adapt teaching strategies for facility constraints and security procedures.
• Maintain accurate student records per Lee College requirements.
• Submit required student reports to Admissions & Records on schedule.
• Provide counseling and guidance while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom for diverse learning needs.
• Monitor progress and provide timely interventions for at‑risk students.
• Incorporate career exploration appropriate for system‑impacted students.
• Travel between units and document travel for reimbursement.
