Position Overview

North Carolina Central University is a historically Black university located in Durham, North Carolina. The department offers English, Spanish, and Interdisciplinary Studies programs and hosts various student clubs and honor societies. Language and Literature faculty contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, including Women’s and Gender Studies, Global Studies, Service Learning, and Digital Humanities.

Primary Purpose of Position
  • Teach courses in Elementary Kiswahili I and II
  • Hold 4–8 office hours per week
  • Prepare course materials and grade student assignments
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proven ability to teach college‑level German to English‑speaking students.

Minimum Education/Experience

The applicant must hold an M.A. degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in Kiswahili.

No license or certification required.
