Adjunct Instructor – Welding [Wise County Campus]

This part‑time adjunct faculty position is part of the ongoing recruitment cycle for the Department of Welding & Fabrication. The role is security sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males aged 18 through 25 must be registered with the Selective Service System. Position Summary

Applicants will be added to a pool of qualified candidates for consideration whenever a need arises during the academic year. When a vacancy is announced, the hiring manager will draw from this pool.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in welding and related disciplines in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities.
• Design, prepare, and deliver instruction that helps students achieve the specific learning outcomes for assigned courses.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain communication with students.
• Assess student performance and submit final grades promptly.
• Create and maintain an effective learning environment, including laboratory safety and instructional technology.
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings, complete required training, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to College policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–5 years of work experience in welding or a closely related field (associate degree or higher).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of study; 3 to 7 years of classroom teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.
• Credentials: Associate degree and/or 2–5 years experience; Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years experience; Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years experience; Doctorate and/or 16+ years experience. Credentialed individuals in the field are preferred.
• Compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools faculty teaching standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skill, and ability to instruct in multiple modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, dual credit).
• Effective communication and professional conduct.
