Position Details
Kilgore College is seeking a passionate and experienced Instructor to join our Music Department. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction to students of various backgrounds, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The instructor will be responsible for teaching a college level Music Appreciation course in multiple formats (in-person, online, hybrid, dual credit).
Responsibilities
- Teach, conduct, and develop Music Appreciation courses
- Collaborate with other music faculty at Kilgore College
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and goals of students
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with pedagogy and performance practices to ensure high-quality instruction
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters in Music, or a Master’s degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Music History
- Teaching experience at the college level or in a similar educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students
- Commitment to student success and academic excellence

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits
- Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and ranges from $1,900 per 3-hour course for a master's degree to $2,100 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.
