The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Adjunct Instructor-HES (Pooled Position) to contribute to a dynamic teaching/learning environment.

The role involves teaching assigned courses and following course outlines across day, evening, online, and hybrid formats, with participation in departmental initiatives as outlined by the Adjunct Faculty CBA. Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in a related discipline; a Doctorate or professional license is preferred and may be required

• Master’s Degree in the appropriate discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Doctorate and/or license in a specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the discipline.
• Exercise Science, Health Education, Nutrition and/or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses following the department's course descriptions and outlines.
• Incorporate online, hybrid, or other instructional modalities as needed.
• Participate in departmental initiatives and relevant professional activities as outlined by the CBA.

Job Summary

All faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional activities may include participation in departmental initiatives, evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties.

Qualifications - Education

• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in the appropriate discipline required.
• A doctorate and/or license in a specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the discipline.
• Exercise Science, Health Education, Nutrition and/or related fields.

Qualifications - Experience

• Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.
• Additional job experience may be substituted for a Masters Degree in selected discipline.

Qualifications - Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fields of specialization.
• Ability to teach lab courses and/or tutor in learning centers as appropriate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
