The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Adjunct Faculty for Biology to create dynamic learning environments while teaching various courses. Responsibilities include following course outlines and schedules, teaching both day/evening/weekend formats and online/hybrid classes.
A Master’s Degree in the appropriate discipline is required, with prior teaching experience preferred. The role involves participation in departmental initiatives and may include recognition for academic achievements.
Adjunct Faculty Biology (Pooled Position)
All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching and learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Adjunct faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include day/evening/weekend courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), additional activities may include participation in departmental initiatives, evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties.
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in the appropriate discipline is required or a doctorate and/or licensure in a specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the discipline.
Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities. Additional job experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree in selected discipline.
Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fields of specialization. Ability to teach lecture and/or lab courses and/or tutor in learning centers, as appropriate. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
