Job summary

Oregon Tech is seeking adjunct instructors to teach online sections of Globalization in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department. This pool will be accessed when needs arise, and credentials remain active for up to two years. After that, applicants must reapply for the latest adjunct pool.

Responsibilities

  • Teach part‑time Globalization courses to Oregon Tech students.
  • Prepare lecture materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Engage students via virtual meetings, discussions, and collaboration tools.
  • Maintain a professional, inclusive online learning environment.

Job description

Adjunct Instructor – Globalization

We are seeking adjunct instructors to teach online sections of Globalization in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at Oregon Tech.

This pool will be accessed only when an opening or need arises. Your credentials will remain active as long as the pool position is available but not more than two years. After two years, if you are still interested, you must reapply to the most current adjunct pool.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references with contact information (phone & email). In your cover letter, specify the areas or courses that you are qualified to offer and would be interested in teaching.

Teaching Modality: Appointments may include courses offered online, in-person on-campus, hybrid, or alternative formats responsive to state and local requirements.

Location: Primary campus locations include the Klamath Falls campus, the Portland-Metro campus (located in Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may be conducted remotely/online within the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Teach part‑time Globalization courses to a diverse range of Oregon Tech students, including those in engineering, business, and social sciences.
  • Prepare lecture materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with the course objectives.
  • Engage students through virtual meetings, discussion boards, and collaboration tools.
  • Maintain a professional and inclusive online learning environment.
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Anthropology, History, Political Science, Sociology, or related field.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time, permanent basis at the time of hire; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or other employment‑based immigration support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard).
  • Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
