Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in Geography. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments will be on LCC’s downtown Lansing campus. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, professional development activities, and other duties as assigned. *In-person teaching is required*

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Geoscience (from a regionally accredited college or university) or subdiscipline (Geography, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Earth Science) or a Master’s Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Geoscience or subdiscipline (Geography, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Earth Science).
• Previous teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree in Geoscience (from a regionally accredited college or university) or a Doctoral Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in a related field with a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Geoscience.
• Teaching at the college level.
