Manhattanville University is seeking an adjunct professor to teach a Screenwriting Workshop in its MFA in Creative Writing Program (1/19/27 through 5/7/27). This course must be taught in-person.Please note that if the Fall semester is successful, there will be the possibility of future employment in an adjunct role.
ENW-5003 Screenwriting Workshop
Students are introduced to the craft of visual storytelling, exploring character, dialogue, plot setting and tone. Students view movies weekly and read extensively in professional film scripts. Each week student writing is discussed in a workshop format. The semester project is the completion of the "First Act" of a feature screenplay, approximately thirty pages of writing, as well as an accompanying outline of the entire screenplay.
Education: Graduate degree in Creative Writing, Screenwriting, Film or other relevant field
Experience: Previous experience teaching composition and/or academic writing at the undergraduate or graduate level (graduate level preferred)
Salary: $3,700 - $4,000
Teaching time: 2.5 hours/week
Office hours: 2 hours/week
