Job summary

Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) is seeking an ESL instructor to teach multi-level ESL classes within its secondary programs. Under limited supervision, you will deliver instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing and support student orientation.

Responsibilities include implementing state-mandated programs, collaborating with the Adult Education team, and performing additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education.
• Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.

Physical Demands

Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
