Job summary

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College seeks an adjunct instructor to assist with teaching in the Continuing Education EMS program. Courses may include the EMT Basic and Intermediate classes, Medical Responder class, and other trauma and/or medical continuing education.

Duties include setup/breakdown of classrooms, proper use of equipment, and managing college paperwork and schedules. Classes may be on campus or in the community, with evenings and some day hours.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of EMS field experience, medical field acute settings experience, or mental health counseling in a public health facility.
• Currently certified in at least one of: NCOEMS EMT or above, MD, RN, Respiratory Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
• Willingness to obtain the NCOEMS Level I or II Instructor Certification (not required for specialty fields).
• Comfortable in a college-level environment working with a wide range of people and experiences.
