Brigham Young University seeks an Adjunct instructor for the Linguistics Department to teach Editing & Publishing courses ELING 350, 410R, 430R and 415R starting Jan 4, 2027. A Bachelor's degree in Editing/Publishing is required; an MA or relevant industry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, evaluating student work, and aligning with course learning outcomes described in the BYU catalog.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in editing or publishing related field required.
• MA and/or industry experience desirable.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of core concepts of copy editing, substantive editing, the publication process, and/or the business of editing and publishing.

Responsibilities

• Teach ELING 350 (Basic Editing Skills).
• Teach ELING 410R (Genre and Substantive Editing).
• Teach ELING 430R (Editing for Publication).
• Teach ELING 415R (Business of Editing and Publishing).
