The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia invites applications for non-benefited, single-course faculty wage positions in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education. Openings may be on grounds in Charlottesville, VA and/or online for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027.

Graduate-level instructors require a PhD or EdD, and undergraduate instructors require a Master’s or terminal degree in curriculum and instruction or related fields.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level course instructors require a terminal degree (PhD; EdD) in Education specializing in curriculum and instruction or a related field.
• Undergraduate course instructors require a master’s degree or terminal degree specializing in curriculum and instruction or a related field.
• Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
• Availability to teach in-person, online, and/or hybrid modalities.
• These positions require background checks and education verification; UVA does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Teach and provide content expertise for programs in curriculum and instruction.
• Instructors may teach Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters on grounds and/or online.
• Support student learning and contribute to program development as assigned.
