Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Counseling and Special Education to teach undergraduate and graduate programs in Special Education. The role supports diverse learners and requires ongoing coordination with program staff.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s in special education or a related field with licensure and substantial professional experience; a doctorate and prior higher education teaching are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience using Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom or other virtual platforms.
• Proficiency with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.).

• Adhere to University and School of Education policies.
• Grade assignments, tests, and exams promptly.
• Communicate clearly, consistently, and proactively with students and address their questions promptly.
• Share concerns with program coordinators promptly.
• Finalize and submit course grades by set deadlines.
