Job summary

Wake Technical Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Cosmetology courses at various locations. Openings may be available following qualification review and may contact applicants in the future.

Ideal candidates will hold a Cosmetology license and instructor license, have salon and teaching experience, and be prepared to design curricula and maintain records while engaging students with diverse teaching methods.

Qualifications

• Current Cosmetology License and Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Two years salon experience.
• Two years teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner.
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance.
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional class period.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner.
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course.
• Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction.
• Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course.
• Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology.
• Attends professional development opportunities when possible.

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Cosmetology courses. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations.

• Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
