Job description

Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction). Hours vary by need and course schedule and may include day, evening, and weekend instruction.

Qualifications
  • Required Education: Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards including an earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 4 semesters of college‑level experience in online, hybrid, and/or face‑to‑face classroom modalities, with enrollments comprising traditional and non‑traditional student populations.
