Job Duties

Job responsibilities include preparing and teaching Allied Health classes in Phlebotomy. The instructor would collaborate with other Faculty members and the Faculty Development Team as needed to ensure continued success. This is a part-time Adjunct Faculty position. Butler uses electronic grade books and other forms of mediated communication. Free training is offered and required.

Salary

Salary (Commensurate with education and experience) $850 per credit hour taught.

Qualifications

Required knowledge and skills

Knowledge of Phlebotomy course content and computer literacy required. Required personal attributes include integrity, emotional maturity, dependability, and effective communication skills. Knowledge of adult education methods and theories preferred.

Required experience

A minimum of two years of demonstrated Phlebotomy experience is required.

Preferred experience: Experience as an instructor within a Phlebotomy related program or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.

Required educational background

Must hold any of the following:

Hold a valid, high-level industry-recognized credential and demonstrate a minimum of 4000 hours of work experience in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology or Phlebotomy, or

a minimum 4,000 hours of work experience in the specific technical field (phlebotomy).

Preference: A Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree from a regionally-accredited institution in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological sciences, education, or healthcare related degree in addition to the experience or certificate outlined above.
