Marquette University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in Criminology & Law Studies. In-person teaching will cover Family Violence and Public Intervention, and Victimology, with two to three weekly office hours and student communication via D2L, Teams and Outlook.

The department seeks candidates with a Masters or substantial progress toward a terminal degree, and college/university teaching experience. A background in sociology, criminology, or related social sciences is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required or substantial progress toward terminal degree.
• Experience teaching at the college/university level is required.
• Knowledge of D2L, Canvas or Blackboard preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person classes at scheduled times (MWF 1:00–1:50 PM; MWF 2:00–2:50 PM).
• Hold 2–3 office hours weekly, in-person or online.
• Adhere to university curriculum and teaching guidelines, manage D2L/Teams/Outlook communications with Chair, faculty, and students.

Duties and Responsibilities In-person instruction at one or both of the following scheduled times: 1) Family Violence and Public Intervention: MWF, 1pm-1:50pm 2) Victimology: MWF, 2pm-2:50pm. Hold 2-3 office hours each week, in-person or online. Apply University guidelines for curriculum instruction, departmental guidelines for teaching and learning including appropriate assignments and grading responsibilities, maintaining D2L course management system, MS TEAMS, and MS outlook communication with department Chair, faculty, and students.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Masters Degree Preferred Or Substantial Progress Toward The Terminal Degree Preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master's Degree preferred, in Sociology, Criminology, Social Welfare, Law, or related Social Sciences education and background. Experience teaching at the college/university level is required. Knowledge of D2L platform or related experience with Canvas/Blackboard preferred.
