Job summary

Pitt Community College in Charlotte, NC seeks an instructor for industrial, mechanical and electrical technologies. You will design and teach courses, create materials, set up Moodle resources, and guide students through assessments following department guidelines.

You will maintain attendance, provide progress updates, communicate with students and supervisors, and develop lesson plans aligned with program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Technology field.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in other technical programs will be considered.
• Three to five years of experience in the field that relates to the instructional assignment is also required.

Responsibilities

• Instructs day or night classes related to industrial, mechanical and/or electrical technologies.
• Organizes a semester course following departmental guidelines and creates course materials (tests, handouts, lectures, slides, assignments, rubrics, activities, group work, etc.).
• Sets up Moodle materials (gradebook, notes, assignments) and publisher materials if needed.
• Maintains attendance using Web Attendance Tracking and submits reports as required.
• Communicates with students and supervisors via email and is accessible by phone.

Education

Associate Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Technology

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in other technical programs will be considered
