Job summary

The College of Lake County invites applications for a Part-time Adjunct Faculty position in HVAC/R Engineering Technology at the Grayslake Campus. The instructor will teach theory and lab, develop syllabi, deliver classes, and evaluate student progress in alignment with department outcomes.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining current knowledge, participating in governance, and ensuring compliance training where applicable. Applications open ongoing.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in HVAC/R Technology or related field plus 2 years (4,000 hours) of recent industry experience.
• Alternative: HVAC/R certificate plus 5 years (10,000 hours) of recent industry experience.
• EPA 608 certification may satisfy minimum qualifications with 10 years (20,000 hours) of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/R theory and lab courses; develop and distribute a course syllabus.
• Teach required classes, evaluate student progress, and maintain course outcomes.
• Attend adjunct meetings and participate in governance; stay current on compliance training (including EPA 608 if applicable).
• Prepare and update curriculum, provide feedback to students, and submit grades on time.
