Job summary

Austin Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in the Health Information Technology Department to deliver engaged, outcome‑based coursework and support student success.

You will teach to a multicultural student population, participate in curriculum review, and mentor students, maintaining current knowledge of the field while aligning with ACC policies and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards.
• Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management, or Bachelor of Science in Medical Record Administration, or Associates in Health Information Technology.
• Three (3) years of professional work experience.
• Must be flexible to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach Health Information Management courses to a multicultural student population based on department learning outcomes.
• Participate in curriculum review and program assessment, contributing to department governance.
• Provide teaching and mentoring to students and support diverse student success initiatives.
• Remain current in the field through professional development and serve on committees as needed.
• Recruit students at job fairs and events and utilize online learning platforms effectively.
