Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach History on our Grand Rapids and/or Lakeshore campuses, in-person, online, or hybrid. Fall and/or winter semesters, with classes scheduled across a variety of times and locations.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, support student success, and contribute to a high-quality learning experience. A Master’s degree in History and college teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History from an accredited institution is required.
• Teaching experience at a community college preferred.
• Experience with diverse adult learners and varying academic skills.
• Engage in professional development to stay current in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teach History courses offered by GRCC on campus or online.
• Follow the department syllabus and required textbook.
• Maintain accurate academic records and report grades on time.
• Accommodate students under ADA and comply with FERPA.
• Respond to communications promptly and provide course information.
