Qualifications

Typical Responsibilities Include:

• Effectively instruct students in Health Information Management, including ICD-10, CPT classification systems, and reimbursement.

• Complete all required institutional training and maintain regular communication by checking and responding to email consistently.

Required Qualifications Include:

• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management.
• Current Certification with the American Health Information Management Association as a RHIT.
• RHIT must be maintained through current continuing education.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience of coding experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding principles, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of reimbursement (DRG and APC) systems.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches to the learning environment.
• Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to function effectively and productively on team-based initiatives is critical.
• Ability to use technology, including MS Office programs and internet-delivered materials, is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management.
• Current Certification with the American Health Information Management Association as a RHIA.
