Department: Educator Development

Reports To: Assistant Director

Job Goal:

To increase and enhance individual teacher effectiveness by providing clinical teachers, residents, and interns support, guidance, and consistent feedback. This position is part time, with complete flexibility in both workload and work schedule.

Requirements

• Valid educator certificate in the state of Texas


• Minimum of 10 years teaching experience


• Minimum of 5 years administrative experience


• Must be willing to commute within 50 miles


• Must have a flexible schedule


• Proficient in technology skills including but not limited to email, Microsoft Word, scanning documents, PDF files, etc.


• T‑TESS Certification, preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Submit observation reports to INSPIRE TEXAS by set deadlines.


• Document observations in the INSPIRE TEXAS database.


• Provide constructive and relevant feedback on classroom observations.


• Communicate with INSPIRE TEXAS staff, district/campus administrators on teachers’ progress and performance. o Review database for additions, updates, and deadlines.


• Offer emotional support by listening, encouraging, and sharing experiences.


• Provide remediation for clinical teachers, residents, and interns


• Create a partnership with the clinical teachers, residents, interns and administrator.


• Provide pacing reminders to ensure that the teacher candidate is meeting deadlines in a timely fashion.


• Obtain any information about teaching dates and hours, and ensure that intern/clinical teachers adhere to these.


• Conduct regular observation visits including a pre and post-observation conference with o the Intern/Clinical Teacher after each visit. o Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.


• Communicate any issues with the Office of Practicum Support.


• Help facilitate resolution of issues, using the Professional Dispositions, Intervention, and Program Continuation Policy.
