• Valid Texas Classroom Teaching Certificate.
• Preferred: 3+ years in administration/supervision and T-TESS Field Supervisor cert.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular observations with teacher candidates and pre/post conferences.
• Document observations and submit timely reports per program deadlines.
• Provide constructive feedback to candidates on classroom performance.
• Communicate progress with program staff and ISD partners.
• Notify leadership of candidate performance issues and progress.
• Assess progress using multiple measures and provide timely updates.
• Attend required in-service trainings with EPP and ISD partners.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and partners.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The CE Adjunct Field Supervision supports the mission of theEducator Preparation Program (EPP) by overseeing, mentoring, andevaluating teacher candidates during their clinical and field-basedexperiences. This role ensures that candidates effectivelyintegrate pedagogy with classroom practice, meet state andinstitutional standards, and demonstrate professional competenciesrequired for successful entry into the teaching profession.

CE Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on asemester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of theSystem. Lone Star College accepts application material year-roundfrom qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.Adjunct (part-time) faculty hiring is based on student demand. Weoffer day, evening, and weekend classes. Classes are offered atvarious times and locations during the academic year. This positionis part time, with flexibility in both workload and workschedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Conducts regular observation visits including a pre- andpost-observation conference with the teacher candidate and allrelevant stakeholders
2. Documents and submits observations by established programdeadlines
3. Provides constructive and relevant feedback to teachercandidates on classroom observations and overall performancethrough effective coaching
4. Communicates with program staff and System/campusrepresentative(s) on teacher candidates' progress andperformance
5. Communicates any teacher candidate performance issues toprogram leadership
6. Evaluates students by a variety of means to measure theirprogress and compliance in field experience and inform them in atimely manner of their progress
7. Attends in-service meetings and trainings as required with theEPP and ISD partners
8. Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues,ISD partners and the community
9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

• Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment
• Travel to ISD partner schools as needed to carry out thefunctions of the position
• Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
• Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
• Hours will vary depending on academic calendar and teachercandidate availability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience
• Master's degree or higher in education or a related field
• Experience must include at least 3 years of recent documentedexperience in K-12 classroom teaching
• Valid Texas Classroom Teaching Certificate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 3 years of K-12 administrative and/or supervisoryexperience
• Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) FieldSupervisor Certificate

Salary

$56.55 per contact hour.
