Job summary

College of DuPage invites applications for Adjunct Faculty, Surgical Technology, Central Sterile Processing. This role involves teaching courses in classroom, lab, or clinical settings and delivering instruction in diverse formats including online and hybrid.

The successful candidate will plan curricula, evaluate students, and manage course paperwork while supporting a multicultural learning environment. Some remote teaching may be required.

Qualifications

• Combination of an Associate degree and tested experience in surgical technology.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology education program.
• Minimum two years of OR scrub or teaching experience in the last five years.
• Experience teaching remotely in online or virtual settings.
• Credential in surgical technology through a national cert program (NCCA).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lectures and labs in classroom, lab, or clinical settings.
• Evaluate students and submit required instructional paperwork on time.
• Deliver courses in face-to-face, online, hybrid, or blended formats.
• Teach remotely with online technology as needed.

Adjunct Faculty, Surgical Technology, Central Sterile Processing - SP27

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

Required Qualifications:

Education

• A combination of an Associate degree, training and tested experience in the field.
• Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.

Experience

• Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
• Experience teaching remotely in online, or virtual setting.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
• Have certification within 6 months: HealthcareSterile Processing (HSPA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST) or Central Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred. Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate ability to teach online required.

These positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.

A pre-employment background check at the Colleges' expense is required.
