Job summary

College of DuPage invites applications for Adjunct Faculty, Engineering. They seek instructors to teach Engineering with flexible scheduling across in-person, online, hybrid, and blended formats.

Qualified candidates will hold a Master’s degree in the discipline (or related) or a Master’s plus 18 graduate hours; evidence of graduate coursework or professional experience related to the content is required. Remote teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the discipline or related field, or a Master's plus 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• Evidence of graduate-level coursework or significant professional experience related to the content.
• Experience or education teaching Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct courses in classroom, lab, or clinical settings with multiple delivery modes.
• Evaluate students and submit required paperwork in a timely, accurate manner.
• Deliver courses face-to-face, online, hybrid or blended; adapt to scheduling.
• Potential for remote teaching with access to personal technology.

Adjunct Faculty, Engineering - SP27

College of DuPage believes in the power of teaching and learning. We seek adjunct faculty members to teach Engineering.

The successful adjunct candidate will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may exist to teach a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days, evenings and weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master's degree in the discipline or related discipline to be taught; or, a Master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in the discipline to be taught required.
• Additionally, faculty should have evidence of graduate-level coursework (or significant professional experience) relating directly to the content being taught in the specific course or subfield is required.
• Applicants with education or experience teaching in Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering are preferred.

Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred. Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate ability to teach online required.

These positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.
