Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College – South Bend seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to deliver assigned classes in line with college policy and course objectives. You will create engaging instruction and assess student progress using a variety of technologies.

You will maintain accurate records, develop syllabi and assessments, support diverse learners, and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment in line with FERPA and college guidelines.

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.Location: Ivy Tech Community College - South BendEmployment Type: Adjunct FacultyCompensation: $47.35 Per Contract HourMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources.Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
