Summary
Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) within the discipline, delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online, during day and/or evening.
- Develop and manage the class syllabus, ensuring it meets department and college standards.
- Plan and create lectures, discussions, and assignments.
- Assess student grades based on participation, assignments, and exams.
- Assist and mentor students as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in Social Work with at least 18 graduate hours in the field for undergraduate teaching, or a terminal degree in the field or closely related for graduate teaching.
- Knowledge/Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current relevant professional credentials.
- Experience in college or university teaching.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Online or hybrid teaching experience.
Supervision of Others
