Summary

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) within the discipline, delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online, during day and/or evening.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus, ensuring it meets department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess student grades based on participation, assignments, and exams.
  • Assist and mentor students as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work with at least 18 graduate hours in the field for undergraduate teaching, or a terminal degree in the field or closely related for graduate teaching.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current relevant professional credentials.
  • Experience in college or university teaching.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.
